Are your products organic or natural?

What are your fragrances made of?  

Kuumba Made’s Exquisite Fragrance Oils are long-lasting, vegan, and artfully formulated to blend the best of nature and science. They feature a base of nourishing jojoba and/or safflower oil, combined with essential oils, high-quality naturally derived ingredients, and carefully selected, safe, lab-created aromas. Every ingredient is thoughtfully chosen to provide a rich, long-lasting scent experience while supporting safety and sustainability. All Kuumba Made fragrance oils meet the rigorous standards of the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM). 

 All Kuumba Made Fragrance Oils are Leaping Bunny Certified, ensuring they are cruelty-free and ethically sourced.  

Just as important as what’s in our fragrance oils is what’s NOT. Free from harmful or banned parabens or phthalates, animal-derived ingredients, gluten, alcohol, heavy metals, and synthetic dyes, they offer a safe and delightful experience for external use. 

My fragrance oil isn’t as strong as it used to be. What can I do?  

If your Kuumba Made fragrance oil feels less vibrant, try these tips to enhance your scent experience: 

1. Keep Lid Tight: Always make sure the lid or cap is tightly sealed after every use to keep it fresh and prevent the fragrance from losing its intensity.   2. Application: Apply a small amount of oil to pulse points, such as the inside of your wrist, and gently rub your skin together to release the fragrance. Then, apply it to your neck or other desired areas for a beautiful, lingering scent.   3. Layer Your Scents: To enhance your fragrance experience, try layering with our Lotions and Body Oils. This will create a more immersive and long-lasting scent that complements your favorite fragrances.  

4. Use Warmth: Fragrance oils can seem less potent in colder temperatures. Gently warming the bottle in your hands for a minute or two helps activate the scent—your body heat encourages the oils to expand and release more aroma. Just as scents carry farther on warm days, a little warmth can revive your fragrance. At the same time, it’s important to always store your fragrance oils out of direct sunlight to preserve their quality and longevity.  

Note: If your fragrance seems to fade over time, it may be because your senses have grown accustomed to the scent. This natural process, called olfactory adaptation, can make familiar aromas feel less noticeable to you. Others around you, however, can still enjoy the beautiful fragrance you are wearing. 

How do I apply my fragrance oil?

Simply roll a small amount onto your pulse points, such as your wrists, and gently dab onto your neck as desired. A little goes a long way to enjoy the rich, long-lasting aroma.

How should I store my Kuumba Made fragrance oil?

To keep your fragrance oil at its best, store it away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Our compact sizes are perfect for carrying in your pocket or purse, making it easy to reapply and enjoy your favorite scent throughout the day. Larger bottles are ideal for home use.

What is the shelf life of your fragrance?  

Our fragrance oils have a shelf life of 10+ years. Like fine wine, they often become richer over time. To maintain their freshness, make sure the bottle is tightly sealed and stored away from direct sunlight after each use.

What is the difference between perfume and fragrance oil? 

The main difference is the presence of alcohol. Perfumes are alcohol-based, which can dry your skin and cause the scent to fade more quickly. In contrast, our fragrance oils are oil-based and alcohol-free, offering a richer, longer-lasting scent that is gentler on your skin.

What is the difference between fragrance oils and essential oils?  

Fragrance oils are artfully crafted blends of natural and synthetic ingredients designed to create distinctive, long-lasting scents. They can replicate the beauty of natural aromas or introduce entirely unique fragrances that uplift your mood and make you feel and smell radiant. Many synthetic fragrance ingredients are thoughtfully chosen for their safety and sustainability, allowing fragrance oils to achieve remarkable depth and complexity while honoring both the planet and your well-being.  

Essential oils are pure, concentrated extracts from plants, obtained through distillation, cold pressing, or other techniques. They retain the natural fragrance and essence of the plant, making them popular in aromatherapy and holistic wellness practices. 

What's the difference between essential oils and botanically infused oils?

Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts obtained through distillation, cold-pressing, or other techniques, capturing the pure essence of a plant's aroma and its properties. Botanically infused oils, on the other hand, involve steeping the whole plant or its parts in a carrier oil, allowing a broader range of the plant's components to be extracted.  

 Both types of oils are beneficial, but essential oils offer a more concentrated form of the plant's essence, while botanical infusions provide a more comprehensive profile of the plant's benefits. Do you offer cruelty-free products?

Absolutely. Kuumba Made is firmly committed to cruelty-free practices, and we are proudly Leaping Bunny Certified, which is the gold standard of approval via Cruelty-Free International.

Do you offer vegan products? 

Other than the responsibly sourced beeswax found in a few of our Herbal Salves and honey in our Facial Cleanser, our products are 100% vegan. 

Does every size of fragrance oil come with a rollerball applicator?  

Yes, our .15 oz. and .50 oz. fragrance oils include a glass rollerball applicator.

Can I use your products if I have allergies and/or sensitive skin?

We thoughtfully craft our products with gentle, natural ingredients to nourish and protect the skin, keeping sensitive skin in mind. However, individual reactions can vary based on unique sensitivities. We recommend reviewing our product details carefully and consulting your doctor if you have concerns before use. To ensure compatibility, perform a patch test on a small area of skin prior to full application, especially if you have known allergies or sensitivities.

Do you offer international shipping?

Yes, we do offer international shipping. We are pleased to provide our products to customers around the world. Please note, international shipping rates and delivery times vary based on destination. How do I get free shipping? 

Free shipping is available on orders of $60 or more (after discounts and before tax, sale items and gift cards excluded) within the United States. Note that this offer is not valid for international orders.

How long will it take to receive my order?  

Orders are processed within 1-3 business days. Delivery timelines depend on your chosen shipping method and location. For free standard shipping on domestic orders, expect your package within 3-7 business days, while international orders may take 2-4 weeks depending on customs. How can I track my order?

Once your order is shipped, Kuumba Made will send you a confirmation email with a tracking number. You can use this number to monitor the delivery status of your package through the carrier's website.

Lost or Stolen Packages

We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages. If your package is lost in transit or marked as delivered but not received, we recommend reaching out directly to the carrier with your tracking number for further assistance. Once an order has shipped, the carrier is responsible for delivery.

What is your return policy?

How can I earn points and redeem rewards?

You can earn points by creating an account, following us on social media, and earning points for every dollar spent, plus more! Check out the "Ways to Earn" section on our Rewards page for full details.

To access your rewards, log into your account to see your point balance. Depending on how many points you have, you can turn those points into dollars.    To redeem your points in checkout, use the drop-down menu above your cart total to choose the amount you would like to apply, then click the "APPLY" button.  

To redeem rewards, a minimum purchase of $20 is required. Please note that sale promotions cannot be combined with loyalty rewards.

Do you offer any discounts or promotion codes?

Why didn't my automatic discount apply at checkout?

There are several reasons why your discount may not have applied: 

Cart Requirements Not Met: Our discounts often have certain conditions, such as a minimum purchase amount or specific items that need to be in your cart. If these aren’t met, the discount won’t apply.  

Exclusions: Some promotions exclude specific products and categories. Please ensure your cart matches the promotion’s criteria.  

Promotion Validity Period: Discounts are only valid within a specific timeframe. Orders placed outside this period will not receive the discount.  

Browser Issues: Sometimes, browser cache or cookies may prevent discounts from applying correctly. Try refreshing your page or clearing your browser cache.  

Maximum Usage Limits: If a discount has a usage limit and it’s been reached, it will not apply to further orders.  

Technical Difficulties: On rare occasions, there might be a technical glitch. Kuumba Made does not operate traditional brick-and-mortar stores. However, if you are in the Tucson, AZ area, we do have a retail store at our location. You are welcome to come Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm.
