Are your products organic or natural?
We are committed to creating products that are as kind to the environment as they are to your body. All our products are carefully formulated with high-quality, natural ingredients, and we strive to use organic components wherever possible.
What are your fragrances made of?
Our fragrance oils are comprised of a combination of natural essential oils, naturally derived ingredients, and safe lab-created aroma ingredients. They contain jojoba and/or safflower oil as a carrier oil and comply with the stringent standards of the International Fragrance Association (IFRA).
Just as important as what is in our fragrance oils is what is NOT in them. Our fragrance oils do not contain parabens, phthalates, animal derived products, synthetic dyes containing mercury or lead and banned or dirty chemicals. We take great care to ensure all our products are safe and enjoyable to use for external use.
My fragrance oil isn’t as strong as it used to be. What can I do?
If your Kuumba Made fragrance oil isn't as strong as it used to be, here are some tips you can try to rejuvenate the scent:
Shake the Bottle: Sometimes, the natural ingredients can separate slightly when not in use. Gently shake the bottle to mix the ingredients thoroughly.
Store Properly: Ensure that your fragrance oil is stored in a warm place away from direct sunlight, which can degrade the potency of the scent over time. This could include a warm shelf-next to a window.
Keep Lid Tight: Always make sure the lid or cap is tightly sealed after every use to prevent the fragrance from evaporating or losing its intensity.
Apply Warmth: When applying, rub the oil slightly with your fingers to generate warmth. This can help to intensify the fragrance as the heat can help release the scent more effectively.
Layer Your Scents: Consider using other complementary products like lotions or body oils from Kuumba Made to help in enhancing and layering the scent, making it last longer and stay more robust.
How should I store my Kuumba Made fragrance oil?
In a warm area out of direct sunlight. The warmth will bring out the notes in the fragrance. Remember to shake the fragrance bottle before use.
What is the shelf life of your fragrance?
10+ years. Fragrance oil is like wine; it gets better with time.
What’s the difference between perfume and fragrance oil?
Alcohol. Fragrance oils do not utilize alcohol in their compound. There is alcohol in perfumes.
What is the difference between fragrance oils and essential oils?
Fragrance oils are crafted blends of natural and synthetic ingredients designed to create specific scents. They mimic natural smells or introduce new, unique aromas but don’t offer the therapeutic benefits of essential oils.
Essential oils are pure, concentrated extracts from plants, obtained through distillation or cold pressing. They retain the natural fragrance and therapeutic properties of the plant, making them popular in aromatherapy and natural wellness.

Kuumba Made does not operate traditional brick-and-mortar stores. However, if you are in the Tucson, AZ area, we do have a retail store at our location. You are welcome to come Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm.
